Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Health and Social
Services(CHSS) at New Mexico State University!
We are a premiere provider of health science and
human services education and research at the state,
national and international level. We are committed
to improving the health and social well-being of
individuals as well as communities by addressing
the physical, social, environmental and emotional
needs across the lifespan.
Our college consists of the School of Nursing, the School of Social
Work and the Department of Health Science. At CHSS, you can earn
undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing, social work or public
health education, as we offer BCH, BSN, MPH, MSW, MPH/MSW
and Ph.D. degrees. We also offer many different avenues of learning,
including traditional classroom settings and online classes. You will
have the opportunity to get valuable, real-world experience by working
and learning out in the community-thanks to our partners at local hospitals,
social services agencies and public health organizations.
Here at the college we have a strong vibrant community with more than
70 faculty members, over 1,600 students and 50 support staff. We invite
